BOLLARIS / MetaTrader 5 only
Follow the steps for MT5 login, EA files, connection settings and account authorization.
From account preparation to getting started
Authentication is integrated into the EA. Authentication and one scheduled renewal have been verified on an existing demo account. First-time setup, interrupted-registration recovery, full MT5 restart and extended operation are still being checked. The steps below are guidance ahead of public release.
For the Windows desktop version of MT5. This is a first-installation guide; do not use it to replace an EA managing existing positions. Mac setup will need separate verification.
Log in to the correct MT5 account
Use the Windows MT5 terminal provided for your broker.
- Open File → Login to Trade Account. Enter your account number, trading password and the matching server.
- Check that the account shown in MT5 is the one you intend to authorize. An investor password allows viewing, but not trading.

Save BOLLARIS.ex5 in the EA folder
After distribution starts, download the verified file from this site.
- In the MT5 you will use, open File → Open Data Folder, then open MQL5 → Experts.
- Place BOLLARIS.ex5 in that folder. If you use more than one MT5 installation, use the data folder opened by the correct terminal.
Check before continuingBOLLARIS.ex5 is inside that terminal’s MQL5/Experts folder.
Make BOLLARIS appear in Navigator
Return to MT5 after saving the file.
- Open View → Navigator if the panel is not visible.
- Under Expert Advisors, right-click and choose Refresh. Look for BOLLARIS in the list.

Allow the authorization connection
Add this site to MT5’s permitted WebRequest destinations.
- Open Tools → Options → Expert Advisors. Enable the option that permits WebRequest for listed URLs.
- Add https://marginmethod.net to the URL list, then click OK. Keep other URLs already used by your EAs.

Attach the EA to its chart
Use a separate chart so you do not replace another EA.
- Open the Gold chart specified in the release guide, select M15 (15 minutes), then drag BOLLARIS from Navigator to that chart. Only one EA can be attached to each chart.
- Review the EA’s settings. For the initial connection check, leave trading permission for this EA off; do not switch off all other EAs in MT5.
Check before continuingThe EA name appears on the chart. This alone does not mean account authorization is complete.
Consent to account verification and wait
The EA sends account information and handles authentication. The first-time consent flow is still being checked before public release.
- Read the release’s consent screen and agree only after checking the information sent and its purpose. Company, server, account number and demo/live status will be used for verification.
- Wait for the account’s referral conditions and permission to be checked. Receiving the information is not the same as authorizing trading; broker confirmation can take several business days.
Check before continuingConfirm the authorization result shown by BOLLARIS. The final consent controls and display examples are still being verified for release.
Start only after permission is confirmed
Account authorization and MT5’s trading switches are separate checks.
- After authorization is confirmed and you choose to begin, allow algorithmic trading in this EA’s properties and in MT5’s toolbar. Both permissions are required for orders.
- Keep MT5 connected and running. Even when authorized, the EA may wait until its trading conditions are met.
Check before continuingThe correct account is authorized and both trading permissions are enabled. No immediate order is required to prove setup.
If a step does not work
BOLLARIS is missing from Navigator
Open the data folder from the MT5 terminal you are actually using. Check the MQL5/Experts folder and .ex5 file, then refresh the Expert Advisors list.
The authorization connection fails
Check that WebRequest is permitted and that https://marginmethod.net is entered without a typo. This connection must be checked in a normal MT5 terminal, not the Strategy Tester; WebRequest is unavailable in the tester.
The EA is visible, but is not authorized
An EA name or an enabled trading switch is not proof of account permission. Check the account and server, consent, connection and BOLLARIS authorization message. Do not switch accounts to reuse a previous permission.
The EA is authorized, but has not traded
Check the individual EA permission and MT5’s algorithmic-trading permission, then read the logs. The EA can also be waiting for its trading conditions; do not change settings merely to force an order.
Where can I see an error message?
Open View → Toolbox. The Experts tab contains EA messages; Journal contains terminal and connection records. Keep the exact error text and time. Remove account numbers and other private information before sharing a screenshot.

Questions before setup
Do I need to submit my account number in a form?
The EA sends account information automatically after consent. First-time setup is still being validated; the final steps will be published before distribution. You do not need to enter an account number or send a password on this site.
Can I use the EA as soon as details are received?
A receipt only confirms that the details arrived. Referral verification and permission for the account are separate requirements. New orders are not permitted for an unauthorized account.
Can I use the same authorization on another account?
No. Checks use the company, server, account number, account type and related information. A different account needs its own verification and permission.
How will updates work?
After release, this site will provide version numbers, changes and update instructions. Follow the instructions for the relevant version, including how to handle existing settings and open positions.
